So, in 2008 the registry missed $303,619.00 (bids) + $13,297.34 (133 initial fees of $99.98) totalling to $316,916.34 in land rush revenues. Hopeful.ly, they will catch up this season. Mind that the first 71 domains (those that received more than one bid of $75.00) could contribute to $298,969.00 while the rest 62 domains would generate mere $4,650.00. Some bids were made for fun, but some will made it back with now even higher exposure.

Unsold remained three potential trademark disputes: amd.me, elle.me, vista.me – while the other ones were grabbed: aol.me, aqua.me, bbc.me, heinz.me, nytimes.me, tata.me, viva.me, wikipedia.me, it will be difficult to use them, so some may prove to become generic. Tough call, maybe aqua.me and viva.me and then BBC.me it is abbreviated for Baby Beach Club.
The auctions for the last three domains: punch.me, mts.me, montana.me are still live. MTS might be meant for a Russian biggest mobile operator: MTS as MTS.com is gone long time ago.

Surprising.ly, the average price for April auctions was near.ly double of that one of May’s ones, despite the fact that May’s names were just better jingles.
Tell me: where is the logic in this marketing? Or is it that the buyers ran out of cash?

Registry claims these names to be unallocated sunrise and land rush .me names.
Looks like respective applicants failed to register aol.me, aqua.me, bbc.me, heinz.me, nytimes.me, tata.me, viva.me, wikipedia.me ect either by not paying or missing the corresponding trademark papers. One needed to be a holder of a registered trademark for at least two years to qualify.
Strange, though, that now these names were sold on a public auctions.

The last three standers were final.ly sold and concluded the biggest .me sale of this year: mts.me (805), montana.me (480), punch.me (165) – good steal indeed.
Well some of the names that received no bids or were not paid in the end of the day, will sure.ly pop-up again next year.
