Why Twitter is all about “ME”

Twitter

Twitter logo

No one doubts the popularity of Twitter. The number of its satellites sites is just a good proof of this, accompanied by all high rankings of course, for instance, number 25 in Alexa global list. With massive self marketing of millions of its members, the site is featured everywhere:

One of the satellites, foller.me is striving to provide its users with the most interesting information on Twitter members and their communities, all in one place.

For instance, try http://foller.me/google

Then trademarked tweetmeme consolidates the hot stories.

Tweet.me was recent.ly bought at a land-rush leftovers auction for impressive $11,505 and many people are curious to learn what will come out of it. With a bit less curiosity, the same holds for tweetme.me. Tweetme.com will forward you to Jonathan360's profile.

Twitter itself has tighten its legal policies and is now starting to sue few guys, so that the site "twittersa.com" had to be shut down, temporarily at least.

With all this diversity and great marketing, one can only wonder why twitter.me of Christian Riley and twit.me of Lucas Bartholemy are not resolving anywhere.

Techmeme.com is another good example of good concept, just wrong name. Why didn’t they go with something more catchy, say Techie.Me?

    Yet another one: http://wefollow.com/

Such an impressive variety of co-twit applications all over the web only proves that twitter as such is too of a simple service. It is loosing by not providing essential functionality.

Have a look at Facebook – how many satellite site do you know? None that I found so far.
