G.ME for Google+

Apparently, Google was lucky enough to secure G.ME as third one-letter .me name assigned by the registry, following Delicious, which uses D.ME, and Visa, which uses V.ME. The first two transfers happened back in 2011. G.ME was transferred on 20th of April this year.

At the moment, g.me forward to plus.google.com and maybe used as the future shortener by the world's second social network.

Although the deal is not disclosed, Google most probably got it for free given the amount of promotion it will potentially give to .ME.

In any case, it is a win-win for every side. Congratulations to all the parties!
