The case of .co will be interesting indeed. I expect tonnes of work for legal departments. It is too obvious that .co is squatting .com.
It has right to exist as a ccTLD and then on those names not used on .com – but sorting it out will be a complex thing.
IDN – I don’t know. Semi IDN’s like http://рау.com (in Ukrainian) will resolve as http://www.xn--80a5ak.com/ exists for years. Nobody is using them.
I have not seen a computer without Latin keyboard, so using something that is not compliant with 50% of other computers – would you really be doing that?
